Dr. Bell was back on the track this year treating athletes for the Adidas Boost Boston Games. A unique track and field event where Boylston Street in Back Bay is closed to traffic as a raised runway is constructed for the world’s fastest athletes to sprint down to the finish line.
”I was so lucky to start working with elite runners early in my career. The first month I opened up back in April 2016, I was given the opportunity to treat athletes headed to Rio for the Spring Olympics followed by an on site gig at the Adidas Boost Boston Games when my mentor couldn’t make it. Working with translators and high profile patients was totally new to me and it was a marathon of a day, set up in a side room of an event space. I think I ended up treating 21 athletes that day, which is still a lot for me, I typically see fewer patients for longer at my office. But these athletes don’t need me to sort out their goals, everyone is in the zone and I’m there to lend a hand however I can for each competitor.”
