Read about Dr. Bell’s experience treating advanced polio.
”It’s always nice to squeeze in dear old Dad for an adjustment, he was after all my first chronic pain patient. My father and grandmother both contracted polio in 1950 during the height of the epidemic. Thanks to my great-grandmother’s constant care and manual therapy they both survived; however, my Dad was left with: a true several inch leg length discrepancy, scoliosis, and partial paralysis. I learned early on from my grandmother how to help out with manual therapy and heat packs, principles I’ve carried well into my career as a chiropractor in Boston, MA. Today Dad is doing well, and still enjoys regular tune ups followed by a walk around the Public Garden.”
